ABOUT FLYERS LEVEL

The Flyers level, also known as A2 Flyers, is the highest of the three Cambridge English Qualifications for young learners. It is designed for children aged 9 to 12 who have a solid foundation in English and want to further develop their language skills. This exam corresponds to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), meaning that students at this level can understand and use basic English for everyday communication. The Flyers test serves as a great stepping stone to more advanced Cambridge English exams, such as A2 Key for Schools.

One of the main benefits of taking the Flyers exam is that it helps students gain confidence in using English in real-life situations. The test assesses key language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—through engaging and interactive tasks. Completing the Flyers exam demonstrates that a student can communicate in simple English, express ideas clearly, and understand everyday texts and conversations. Since there is no pass or fail, all candidates receive a certificate highlighting their achievements, making it a positive and encouraging learning experience.

The Flyers exam consists of three sections: Listening, Reading and Writing, and Speaking. The Listening section includes tasks such as identifying specific information, matching words with pictures, and understanding short conversations. The Reading and Writing section requires students to read simple texts, fill in missing words, and answer questions based on short passages. The Speaking section is a one-on-one conversation with an examiner, where students describe pictures, answer personal questions, and engage in simple discussions. The format ensures that students can showcase their English skills in a supportive environment.

To prepare for the Flyers exam, students should expand their vocabulary and practice using more complex sentence structures in both spoken and written English. Using Cambridge practice materials, such as sample tests and vocabulary lists, can help familiarize students with the exam format. Reading short stories, writing simple descriptions, and having regular conversations in English can further boost confidence. By practicing consistently and engaging in interactive learning activities, students can develop their language skills effectively and be well-prepared for the exam.
